LiDAR Imagery

We currently have two areas of amazing imagery and data available: East Cariboo (from Quesnel River to Bowron Lake and Ahbau Lake to Yanks Peak) and Cinema /Tertiary (a 40km belt north of Quesnel and generally west of Highway 97).  The regional coverage map image shown above shows the areas we currently have available for purchase.  More data will be added in future.

What is LiDAR? ArcGIS describes Lidar (light detection and ranging) as an optical remote-sensing technique that uses laser light to densely sample the surface of the earth, producing highly accurate x,y,z measurements. Lidar, primarily used in airborne laser mapping applications, is generally a cost-effective alternative to traditional surveying techniques such as photogrammetry.  Lidar produces mass point cloud datasets that can be managed, visualized, analyzed, and shared.  With airborne lidar, the system is installed in either a fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter.  The infrared laser light is emitted toward the ground and returned to the moving airborne lidar sensor.  The resulting data can be used to derive surface models for use in many applications, such as forestry, archaeology, hydrology, geomorphology, urban planning, landscape ecology, coastal engineering, survey assessments, and volumetric calculations.

Now you can view the surface of your property or project area without all the thick underbrush and trees!  Locate the extension of auriferous benches or channels, overlay historical assessment maps, or find the lost motherlode at that old shaft you've been so close to for so long!  The imagery is useful for precisely locating historical exploration/disturbance, locating shafts and other mine workings, locating hidden trails and roadbeds, establishing excellent elevation control, and so much more!

TO ORDER: Simply tell us how many hectares you need in the above box and pay online.  Include a note with your order about what claim/lease numbers or District Lots you want data for, or other details about the survey area you require.  Your order will be sent to you by email; or, for a fee, we can mail you a copy on a CD/DVD if you prefer.

Not sure what size your claim is?   Click HERE to search on Mineral Titles or contact us to confirm the actual physical area of your full or fractioned ground.  Just for reference, the price range of each cell is $155 to $196+tax depending on the area and how many hectares of data is compiled for you.

Your order includes:

  • bare earth hillshade image
  • orthophoto (2013 and back to 1998 if available)**
  • elevation contours (20m, 10m and 5m or 2m contours)
  • claim boundary and, if different, your area of mineral or placer rights
  • free random updates to digital imagery and public geological data we may have loaded already or will have available to us in the next year.   This could include things like regional geophysical data or timber harvesting plans!!
  • all the above data will be sent as Google Earth files and/or shapefiles which could be used with your own mapping software.
  • bare earth digital elevation model data/ LAS files (if needed for your own use: just send us a note with your order)

Are you located outside the above mentioned area in the other parts of BC, western Canada or the United States?   Contact us to arrange to request a quote for a LiDAR survey or determine if other sources of LiDAR data may be available for your project area.

Note for BC claim owners: this data is also allowable for assessment credits, recorded as technical work on MTO.  Your experienced geologist can write the report and submit it along with the imagery or we can do that for you.  A minimum order applies or can be included as support for other ongoing technical work you are also recording for assessment.   It's also very useful in generating accurate basemaps for your permits and physical reports.  Contact us to learn more.

Agreement: By purchasing this end-user product/service, you agree that you will save harmless and indemnify Tenorex and all its employees from any liability related to its interpretation, use or misuse by yourself or any of partners/employees.  While careful interpretation can help identify prospective areas and hazards, Tenorex does not make any guarantees, and you are aware the data does not necessarily show the location, quality or quantity of any/all mineral deposits nor does it highlight all possible land stability issues, hazards, mine workings or excavations on or below surface, nor for upslope or upstream hazards included or not included in your order.  You agree to not resell this product, give away any portions or make public.  You may, however, use the data and imagery in assessment reports and permits, have and share your data and imagery for in-house use to support your exploration project.

** do you need older airphotos (not orthophotos) for a certain era?  We can help!  Ask us how.
